Links - Heating Resources
Some heating expenses are lower than they were last winter,
but many Maine people are still wondering how they are going to get
through this heating season. There are well advertised heating assistance
programs for low-income residents (e.g. LIHEAP), but then there is a
huge pool of people who make just enough money to not be eligible for
some of those programs. If that describes your situation, don't give
up. I've listed a few resources below. For a more comprehensive list
of heating assistance resources visit the 2-1-1
Maine web site, or call them (all you have to do is dial 2-1-1 from
any Maine phone).

Type "fuel assistance" in their search engine. I just
tried and got 610 results!
By the way, if you are in a position to donate any
amount of money (no matter how small), go to their search page and
conduct a search for "fuel donation". You will find a
list of many organizations who could use your help, so that they
can help others.
